01 / Lessons

Start where your hands are.

01

First chords

For adults picking up a guitar for the first time, or returning after a long pause. We build comfort, time and a useful song vocabulary.

02

Songcraft

Bring the records you love. We look closely at rhythm parts, chord movement, tone and the small decisions that make a song feel like itself.

02 / The studio way

Technique is useful when it lets you say more.

Fretwright is built for adults with full calendars, curious ears and no interest in being talked down to. Lessons move at a deliberate pace. We can spend a week on a clean chord change, an afternoon untangling a favourite riff, or a month making your rhythm feel settled.

You do not need to read music before you arrive. You do not need a finished ambition either. We use listening, simple notation, recordings and short take-home prompts to make progress visible between visits. The aim is not to collect exercises; it is to make playing feel more available in ordinary life.

03 / Visit

A small room, prepared for focused work.

The studio has electric and acoustic instruments, a modest amplifier setup and tea. Bring your own guitar if you can; if you are still choosing one, there is always something here to start on. Individual appointments are available through the afternoon and early evening.

04 / Between lessons

Keep a little music close at hand.

Short, repeatable sessions make it easier to bring the work of a lesson into the rest of your week.
