Lessons
Private time with the instrument.
Individual guitar lessons for adults, with enough structure to keep moving and enough flexibility to follow a real musical question.
01
Foundations
Start with posture, fretting, strumming and a dependable sense of pulse. We use familiar songs as material, so chords and basic theory immediately have a sound and purpose. This is a welcoming place to begin if you have never played, inherited a guitar, or want to restart without embarrassment.
02
Songcraft
For players who can already make their way around the guitar but want more detail. We look at voicings, rhythm feel, tone, arrangements and how to learn a part by ear. Bring a recording, a half-finished song, or a skill that has felt stuck. The lesson becomes a clear next step, not a generic syllabus.
03
Playing with others
Good ensemble playing is listening made practical. Sessions can focus on keeping a part spare, finding a key quickly, following a form and staying calm when the music changes. It suits adults preparing for a local jam, a band rehearsal, or simply the pleasure of playing alongside a friend.
How appointments work
Lessons are one-to-one and usually held weekly or every other week. A first meeting is a chance to talk about your experience, hear what you are drawn to and try a few things without pressure. You will leave with a small, workable practice focus. Between sessions, short notes or a phone recording can help keep the thread intact.
Bring your own guitar where possible. If you are deciding what to buy, come anyway: we can discuss size, setup and the kind of sound you want before you commit.
